George A. Trone is Assistant to the President, Program Officer, and Grants Database Manager at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation in Flint, Michigan, USA.
For more than a decade, George has focused on strengthening the capacity of individuals and organizations to creatively plan and prepare for the future. Through exploratory grantmaking at Mott, George leads efforts to discover and support innovative approaches to building and sustaining cross-sector, technology-enabled, international networks of leaders motivated by the common good. Within Mott itself George has shepherded the organization through technological change, most recently in an ongoing project to move Mott’s grantmaking online.
George has an A.B. with distinction in Italian Studies (Phi Beta Kappa) from Stanford University and an M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Italian Language and Literature from Yale. He and his wife, An-Me Chung, have two children and live in Flint.
