Heddy Nam is an Executive Associate at Amnesty International USA and Director, Never Again-New York. Founded in 2001, Never Again is an international network that connects young people to generate ideas and action for peace. Heddy joined Never Again in January 2006 during a trip to Rwanda. Having been active in human rights work at the local and international level since her early teenage years, Never Again was a perfect fit with her desire to create these opportunities for others. Upon her return to the US, she founded the New York section with longtime Never Again member from the UK, Marian Hodgkin.
Heddy also is a member of the Founding Committee and a blogger for the Global Youth Fund. She has a BA in Political Science and Human Rights Studies from Barnard College at Columbia University. Her major interests include human rights, youth participation in civil society, and genocide response and prevention.
