N2Y2 Featured Projects

Congratulations to the top three winners of the first-ever NetSquared Innovation Awards:

  1. MapLight.org: A Light on Money and Politics
  2. Miro: Open Source, Open Standards Video
  3. The Freecycle Network

Thousands of NetSquared community members pored through project proposals to determine which projects were using the power of social networks to effect social change. Ultimately, 21 Projects receiving the greatest amount of community support were declared the first class of N2Y2 Featured Projects.

These projects were the focus of the NetSquared Year Two Conference. All 21 projects are terrific and we look forward to seeing the results of connections made and collaborations that were begun at the NetSquared Year Two Conference.

Help Wanted

The 21 projects that are finalists for our NetSquared Innovators Award all have a lot to offer as models of technical innovation, social impact focus, and financial sustainability. But there are still pieces missing from the puzzle -- and that's where you come in. Please visit our "help wanted" sections to find out what kinds of expertise these projects are looking for in order to achieve success. Maybe you have the expertise they need to make it happen.

All Projects

You can still browse through all 150+ project proposals that were submitted for review by the NetSquared Community. You can look at projects in a variety of ways, by Cause, tools, or even download a PDF Voter Guide listing brief summaries of nominated all projects.

Interested in how these project proposals were submitted and what the voting process was like? See the original project guidelines, voting guidelines, details on our vote counting process and our voting FAQ. As it was our first time conducting an open call for projects and public vote, the process was not without its flaws. You can find out what we learned from the community in our feedback section.
