Mobile Giving Foundation

Mobile Giving promotes 'Donating via mobile Phones' . They found the market cap is $200+billions from individuals per year. And there are 260 million mobile users in US. They have a plan to rise  $5 million donations for '09 where as they did $500k out of 100k mobile users in '08. They claim this is 100% pass through and easy to implement for the Non Profit Organizations. Nice thing is it also empowers the young donors who are the big time mobile users in the globe. 

Mobile Giving Foundation is the channel between the donors and charities. This foundation got 220 charities under contract and 200+ in queue. 

The Structure of the Foundation is , Non Porfit - application Provider - Foundation - Donor.

Raj Singh was presenting about Mobile browsing and the development path and the future of it. He almost touched most of the issues as of today that mobile browsers facing - size, interface, input , etc. In early days of mobile browsing , asa case study he noted WAP was routed from wells fargo to Bank of  America and the ssl was not actually effective in 1999. Those daysBrowsers were not having plugins, but now java and javascripts are common for most phones. 

What would make a good mobile browsing experience? Speed - Quality - UX (user experience) - Device (touch , gesture, screen) - serarchTrends:  Oneweb: What screen size do you develop or optimize your code for , 2" or 2.5" (mobile phones) or 7"-10"(netbook pcs) or 11-15" (notebook pcs) 

Web 2.0 presentation by Marisa K Chancellor at netsquared conference

Marisa K Chancellor -Sr. Director of Communication and collaboration IT provided a great insight of the CISCO - the companies part in Web 2.0 . She explained about the collaboration bettween 400,000 malining lists , the communities web site and the awards . She demoed CISCO CEO John Champer's page in People's Directory - that shows kind of Dash board colloborating with different kind of applications and as many informations that you would like to see and you have access to .
