The currently open TechSoup’s annual Digital Storytelling Challenge (TSDigs), powered by Lights. Camera. Help., combines professional instruction and friendly competition into a hands-on media-making project. Hand in hand with the challenge comes a series of trainings, resources, and inspiration for NGOs to create and tell their compelling stories.
One of the recent educational activities linked with the TechSoup Digital Storytelling Challenge was a TweetChat on Creating Impact and Effective Storytelling. During the hour-long chat on Twitter, nonprofit video experts and audience shared thoughts on what makes powerful videos, technical aspects of creating video that leads to action, and techniques to ensure a video gets shared. Susan Chavez, a member of the TechSoup’s online community team wrote a nice recap of the chat, so if you missed it -- no worries, you can still catch up on what has been discussed.
The tweet chat recap can make a great tip for creating submission for TechSoup’s annual Digital Storytelling Challenge. Have you entered the challenge already? If not, give it a serious thought: create a one-minute video or five-photo slideshow capturing your impact and mission, and submit your digital story by February 29.
