Idealist.org Introduces Pro Bono Designs

Idealist logoIdealist.org, the same place you've listed or looked for jobs and resources in the nonprofit sector, has just launched its Pro Bono Design services in partnership with the Art Directors Club!

Do you need a poster or a new brocher in your organization?   Maybe a new website re-design or a video?   Well, now Idealist can help connect you to designers that can help you produce these and other projects, for free!

How does it work?

To post a project, login to Idealist as usual, and select 'Pro-bono Design Project' from the list of posting options.   Starting Oct. 2nd, you can post these needs on Idealist, and they will do their best to match you with designers and other 'creatives' who want to help.

What's Idealist's role?

Idealist is doing this in collaboration with the Art Directors Club, the leading organization of its kind in the world. Idealist's side of the partnership is to get your projects online, and they will reach out to designers all over the world to get them involved.   The same folks who have connected you with job opportunities, volunteer experiences, and helpful resources for your organization, are the same who can help you find interested and qualified 'creatives' to get you the publications and designs you need.

What projects have you needed in the past and what do you regularly reach out to others outside of your organization to help complete?   What pro-bono work could you use?   Let us know if you use Idealist's pro-bono program and what you think!

This is a great idea...I

This is a great idea...I know that there are many creatives professionals out there that would love to do pro-bono work.  They may be interested in a particular cause and desire to provide their services as an 'in-kind' donation - and I can also see some creatives doing it for the exposure.  Since the best of the best creative professionals have full time jobs that keep them very  busy (often 50 hour weeks) I do worry about the quality of work we'll be seeing from pro-bono providers.  Nevertheless, it's great to have a centralized location to seek and post pro-bono 'opportunities' - kudos to idealist!
