As you know, we are working on a redesign of the NetSquared platform. First, we aggregated feedback from the Community, and even from ourselves.   Then, we shared our ideas and some mockups with you on the blog this summer to get more feedback, share our thinking, and keep the process open. Now, we're ready for action!   We have a small team in place hard at work implementing many of the elements you've all suggested.   And again, we're going to keep the process open...

Creating a Gallery of Innovation

The Project Gallery is a special place in the eyes of NetSquared (both staff and Community).   All Projects entered into the Gallery, whether for a Challenge or not, remain in the Gallery (unless the submitter wants to take it down).   They also remain editable by the user who submits them, so that Project teams can update the profiles with new developments, progress and so on.   We create the Gallery in this way so that it could be a real gallery or showcase of all the Community's outstanding innovative ideas.   Funders could browse for new Projects to fund, organizations could find new tools to implement or pilot, and innovators across the board could find others to collaborate with.

We have taken a hard look at the Gallery and found some ways to make it much better, both visually and with functionality.  

Here's what you'll see:

• There will be intuitive, easy ways to sort and browse Projects by various things like: submission date, title, focus area, geography, and more
• Users will be able to see an expandable summary of a Project before diving into the full profile, true browsing and less clicking
• Once you dig into a Project and choose to vote, become a fan, comment, or just go back, we'll save whatever search/sort you had on the Gallery - you'll go right back to where you left off
• Voting is going to be much, much cleaner and have fewer steps - check out last week's blog post about the Voting Process

Right now!   Well, on a development server first...

We are right in the middle of this work and are doing a sprint to the finish.   We plan to have the redesigned website live very soon (like, about 3 weeks from now!).
