The Yahoo! Green Award is back for a third year at the NetSquared Conference.   Yahoo! is committed to empowering our communities to make a positive impact on the environment, and has reviewed the project submissions included in the "Environment & Energy " Cause Area of the NetSquared Global Project Gallery on the NetSquared Web site looking for the most innovative green technology project to receive a $5,000 Yahoo! Search Marketing award.   And the winner is...

DatAgro Receives the Yahoo! Green Award!

About the Yahoo! Green Award

This year's Yahoo! Green Award goes to DatAgro because of the Project's use of mobile technologies in an innovative way to provide farmers with critical information that promotes sustainable farming and improves local livelihoods. The Yahoo! judging panel is "especially impressed with their detailed implementation plan, the partnerships they've already established with local organizations, and the specific information they plan to distribute."  

Yahoo! is excited to award DatAgro with a $5,000 Yahoo! Green Award grant to help them scale this project to more developing countries.

Last year, Live Climate received the Yahoo! Green Award for its potential to use Web 2.0 tools to benefit the environment by linking carbon offset projects in low-income countries with buyers who value its social and environmental co-benefits.
