HI all,
I wanted to add a personal comment to the project description for PulseWire (www.pulsewire.net) because I truly believe that the mission and features of the project and web portal could dramatically change women's lives by putting needed resources and tools into their hands. I hope you will take another look at this project and realize how significant a project it is and help us to get it developed to share with all.
As someone who has been working in the field of AIDS for over 20 years, and someone who co-founded a project in Rwanda helping to deliver free HIV treatment to women survivors of genocide and rape there, I have had my ear very close to the ground for years. I remain urgently focused on the dramatic impact global HIV /AIDS is having on women's and girls lives and the huge global threat it poses to their future, especially in Africa and Asia, and countries like Haiti where poverty is an engine of the epidemic. AIDS is arguably the greatest threat to the future of women, and we need to greatly scale our collective response to this threat. I have been paying close attention to what works and what could be done to move things faster in hardest-hit Africa and Asia, etc regarding AIDS in women and girls. PulseWire reflects some of my own best personal thinking regarding new tools that could make a major difference.
I believe we need a tool that accelerates the delivery of info and concrete best-practice resources and services, with a focus on sustainability, but that does this by letting women at the grassroots and frontlines of their struggles, like AIDS in Rwanda, tell us what they are doing, want and need, and how they think we can best support their efforts. I think PulseWire can do this. We have worked very hard and very quickly to bring some bright, creative minds into this project, and I think it has the potential to be an amazing tool for empowering women and NGOs to fight global problems like AIDS, and to transform what we believe is possible in the arena of new technology.
So please, have a close look at PulseWire, and join our effort. We welcome all input and especially, passionate, brilliant social change activists to jump onboard.
Cheers, AC
