Building community in your area? Check out the newly-launched Community Organizers Handbook! Everything you need to start and grow a NetSquared Local group or any other community-powered program.
Good morning! This is Brenda Hough, kicking off my NetSquared day two blogging adventures by writing about the Joomla! session, presented by Ryan Ozimek, CEO of PICnet.
People have many identities on the web (Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, etc...). The goal is to bridge the gap between all of those systems. Joomla! is not just a content management system. It's about being a CMS, but also bringing together identites in one place; combining social networking and the CMS.
Goal: Find ways to make things as simple as possible. Lesson One: Keeping connected is not easy. Ease of use and strong accessibility are important (think Google).
Party 4 A Purpose (P4AP) is an example of a non-profit using Joomla!.
Ryan demonstrated the ease of creating and modifying a site using Joomla!. Audience members asked questions and shared their experiences.
