July 18 - 20th saw the convergence of many thousands of women (and men) in San Francisco for the annual BlogHer conference. BlogHer, as you probably know, provides "opportunities for women who blog to pursue exposure, education, community and economic empowerment."
Meg Busse, Director of the Non-Profit Career Transitions Program for Idealist explains why you need to know what you're talking about, make it catchy, scour the social networks, and at least try to make personal contact with people if you want a job in the non-profit sector. Also, she is awesome.

There are already numerous nonprofits that are using YouTube to raise money -- yours could be next. One way is through membership in the YouTube Nonprofit Program. Nonprofits who apply and are accepted have the opportunity to embed a Google Checkout button on their YouTube channel and viewing pages to drive fundraising.

Whilst South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau continue with their Digital Makeover, I though I would draw your attention to some research from nfpSynergy about charities use of the Internet. In their annual "Virtual Promise" research for 2007, I was interested to see that:

I am happy to say that things are really starting to progress with the project. The last entry took a look at how South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau (SYFAB) provide funding information to their service users and how this could be improved by taking some of this information online. SYFAB are also keen to look at how they can encourage service users to provide some of their own insights to create a more "rounded" information service.
