Although the the NetSquared Conference (N2Y2) was only for a couple days last month, it marked the beginning of NetSquared's larger effort to support online innovation with social impact. The NetSquared Innovator Support Network (ISN), which was launched at the Conference, matches donated resources such as hands-on expertise, products and services with NetSquared projects to accelerate their work using the social Web for social change.
ISN member Yahoo! recently named N2Y2 Featured Project FamilyFarmed.org as the recipient of their inaugural Yahoo! for Good Green Award. In their e-newsletter, FamilyFarmed reported:
"At a VIP day, FamilyFarmed.org representatives met with key Yahoo! staff to discuss how FamilyFarmed.org can incorporate a number of web 2.0 tools from food and agriculture blogging to e-commerce and online video editing. Each Yahoo! expert gave selflessly of their time to introduce unique social networking features available on the web to help advance the FamilyFarmed.org mission. In addition, Yahoo! has given FamilyFarmed.org a $10,000 grant for Yahoo! Search Marketing keywords."
Another exciting philanthropic match was made recently between the Make Change! Trust and Aspiration Social Source Commons, another N2Y2 Featured Project. Aspiration will be the recipient of a $10,000 donation by the Trust.
