The Vodafone Americas Foundation announces its Wireless Innovation Project, a new competition that seeks to identify and fund the best innovations using wireless related technology to address critical social issues around the world. Learn more!
The MaintainIT Project, a project of our mother organization, TechSoup, is a three-year project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that is working with public libraries to identify best practices of technical support for public computers.
The Project works with libraries throughout the U.S. and Canada, while focusing on libraries in the 18 states that are receiving the first round of hardware upgrade grants from the Foundation.
The MaintainIT Team have taken the Internet Archive's Bookmobile on the road this month to visit libraries in rural Northern California. Stay tuned to their blog for photos, videos, and stories from libraries doing the hard work of keeping public computers available.
If you live in California, the rest of their tour schedule is below. A printable version is available here. For more info. contact Sarah Washburn at swashburn@techsoup.org.
