Join us for the San Francisco Net Tuesday on September 9:
Involver: How Nonprofits Can Create Video Campaigns for Social Networks.
Personally, I am super excited to announce that the October 9th speaker at Net Tuesday San Francisco will be Steve Miller, Product Manager, Google Earth Outreach.
Ever since I saw the Jane Goodall Institute's Gombe Chimpanzee Geoblog made with Google Earth last fall, I've been excited about the potential for nonprofits to use this tool.
Lots of nonprofits are using Google Earth to tell their stories. You can read about some specific groups' goals, challenges and best practices, and the overall impact of visualizing their work on Google Earth in the Google Earth Outreach Case Studies.
Charitable organizations can also apply online for Google Earth Pro grants (a $400 value); grantees will receive additional technical support from Google.
San Francisco's Net Tuesday will be on October 9th from 6-8 PM at the TechSoup/CompuMentor offices in San Francisco (525 Brannan St. Ste. 300). The event is free. RSVP on Upcoming or Meetup.
