Next month at Net Tuesday San Francisco, our
presenters will be Gina Bianchini, the co-founder and CEO of Ning, Inc., and Benjamin Rattray the CEO of Change.org.
Ning gives everyone the opportunity to create their own social network for anything. There are over 48,000 social networks on Ning. You can create your own social network for free in a few minutes on Ning.
Change.org is a social network for hundreds of social causes and over 1 million nonprofit organizations. Change.org aims to transform social activism by serving as the central platform that connects like-minded people, whatever their interests, and enables them to share ideas, exchange information, and collectively act to address the issues they care about.
The event will be on Tuesday, April 10th, from 6-8 PM. Citizen Space (425 2nd Street Ste 300) in San Francisco is generously allowing us to use their space again (thanks guys!). Admission is free. You can RSVP on Upcoming or Meetup.

Green With Envy
These are the times where i wish i was living back in Denver Colorado only because it would make me that much closer to San Francisco for this Net Tuesday Meetup!
Is there any way i can still catch a part of the action, perhaps the meeting will be recorded in some way???
A Better Alternative for Charitable Engagement?
Another opportunity for engagement in the nonprofit sector is offered at ChangingThePresent.org. For just a few dollars, you can provide a child with her first book; fund an hour of cancer research; protect an acre of the rainforest; or restore a blind person’s sight with cataract surgery. ChangingThePresent.org offers thousands of inspiring donation opportunities from hundreds of leading nonprofits, so you’re sure to find something that moves you.
Donation gifts are also a wonderful way to honor friends and family for their birthdays, weddings and holidays. (After all, how many of us really want another pair of fuzzy slippers?) Wish lists and registries make it easy to find the perfect gift, which you can share with a personalized greeting card.
A Board of Advisors, with over 125 leaders of prominent nonprofit organizations, provides ChangingThePresent.org with deep expertise and broad support.
And unlike the site named above, ChangingThePresent.org really is a nonprofit.
Finally, the transaction fees are extremely low – about the same as a nonprofit would pay to process a credit card donation on their own site.
