About two months ago, a small group of you participated in a short poll about the #1 reason you read the NetSquared Blog. Almost half of you said it was to read about, "Case Studies of Nonprofits Using the Social Web."
I'd love to hear more about the kind of information you are looking for. Do you want . . .
Stories about how a social web tool was used as part of an organization's campaign?
Stories about how to convince reluctant team members to try social web tools?
Stories about how to use online tools to inspire offline action?
Stories about using the social web to build community?
Stories about using the social web to raise money?
Stories about using the social web to raise awareness about an issue?
Stories about particular kinds of social web tools?
Lemme know.

case studies
To answer the questions - yes, I want case studies about all of those. No, I don't want stories. Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I did answer that poll and chose case studies thinking that there was a common definition and expectation - a summary of the business environment before a decision was made, options considered in making the decision, obstacles encountered in implementing the decision, and results (even preliminary) of the decision. I've been shocked to see things labeled "case study" that are simply "here's an example of someone using tool X."
Case Studies
I am always looking for case studies about how organizations use the social web to build community and raise money. Details about lessons learned, alternatives considered, and the business case are as interesting as the final results. Any case studies are appreciated and helpful. I am especially interested in small nonprofits, but even examples about large corporations can give some helpful info.
Thanks,
Kevin
