Hey all- it's been so exciting to read all your blog entries, see your slates, and (of course) check out your proposals (it has also been a lot of reading!).
I was struck by this earlier comment:
"Typically these project evaluation processes are ceded over to a small committee of evaluators chosen because of their individual qualifications and expertise. And usually there is another layer of administrative evaluation, assessing the legal status and financial competence of the institution."
I was curious- do most of you see this as a positive or negative? I couldn't quite read the connotation. We joined NetSquared to peek into the very cool (and hardworking) world of non-profits and would love to hear your thoughts.
Do you find your work mired by having to navigate byzantine grant applications or committees? Or do you find it useful to have some structure, despite the aggravation?
I guess, in a larger sense, what parts of the freedom of the NetSquared application do you appreciate the most, or find most unique?
Just curious- I know you have more important reading to do than this...so good luck!
