We just launched iCommunity.TV, a site that is probably best described as a collaborative video platform for local news. It's intended to bring together the Youtube phenomenon, geography and local communities and we like to think of it as an experiment to further explore the potential of citizen reporting. We would love to hear your feedback!
I hope that little towns, as well as big cities will post their news. To make it a truly global platform, you might want to have the people posting the videos write very brief summaries of what the video is about, and have a translation function that translates the blurb into Mandarin, English, Hindi and Spanish.
