America's Sexuality Day www.sexdayusa.com will be announced on March 3, 2010-- only 15 days away. Over the past 2 months four web developers have said they'd volunteer. Unfortunately all four have had delays. We were hoping to have a press conference at The National Press Club in DC on 3/3. Without a web presence to establish our message, I am not sure the date and its symbolism will have a fair launch.
We are in SOS ASAP need for--
Honestly, I'd be ecstatic right now just for the home page with an attached easy blog.
Why is America's Sexuality Day Important?
There is no date in America that specifically honors, celebrates and dialogues for everyone's sexuality. And neither the Supreme Court nor Congress have made any attempt to acknowledge sexual speech as a protected freedom, or even to acknowledge that sex is significant to your individuality, society and our democracy. In other words, YOUR SEX is at risk, everyday from school boards to local and state legislatures, to private enterprise and "community standards". But even if that wasn't the case-- if sexual speech, sex ed, the arts were completely protected--doesn't sex deserve one national day of thanks? All that pleasure and complexity it gives to you?
Why is March 3 important?
It is one of the most historical dates in American history, that you didn't hear about. Not only is it the anniversary of the Comstock Act, the Congressional Censorship of sexual free speech, but because prior to the 1920s Congressional sessions ended on 3/3, other important legislaton occurred on that date as well. Our national anthem was adopted on March 3, and interestingly, the european-created Global Music Freedom Day, which promotes free speech of music is also on March 3. Our system of money was authorized on March 3, and subsequently, most coin and postage acts of our Congress were passed on March 3, which goes right back to censorship, because the USPS was forced by Congress on March 3, 1873 to censor sexual education and art; ; The power of the 1873 3-cent stamp unwilling accomplice against free speech.
Not to say America's Sexuality Date is all stuffy history. Sex *is* actually quite sexy, of course, which is one reason why our domain is affectionately called SexDayUSA. Our slogan may be "Let's Talk About It", but that includes humor (sex *is* funny) and March 3 encourages whatever physical inclination you have that day, too!
So, please, on behalf of SEX-- yours, mine and everyone elses-- if you can help, or know someone who can-- SEX needs you. She/He will be most appreciative for your techie embrace.
