This is one of about 1200 such huts in a tsunami relief camp just outside Bhimavaram India. We brought medical assistance to hundreds in this camp last year through the new technology of telemedicine. This is an area we hope to establish a position of our telemedicine network this year.
The woman pictured here, is still living in this makeshift shelter. She has been there ever since the Dec 2004 tsunami. There is no estimate still to this day as to how much longer she may be here. Chances are good she will live out the remainder of her life here.

This is part of the same camp. Over 1200 grass huts and makeshift shelters house some 3000-4000 people here. When we brought in telemedical relief last year, we were the very first tsunami relief these people had seen.
Malnutrition-related disease, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, numerous hygiene-related skin infections and scores of other chronic medical problem are part of everyday life there.
HELP Telemedicine Mobile Medical Clinics is struggling to bring help to them now. Our appeal may sound like a play on the dramatic. It is merely a desperate plea to help us help them. We are not a large agency. We are however struggling to meet a huge need.
