N2Y2 Con: Tech Innovations with GWNL, GINet,

Hi, Evonne Heyning here liveblogging from the Tech Innovation room at N2Y2 for the last session of Tuesday's event.  During the break we had a great discussion on participation in these sessions; for those of us who are in the audience there have been many questions on the backchannel on how the audience can be more effective participants in this process.  Billy @ TechSoup and Jean ~NurtureGirl~ Russell had some great comments on ways that VCs, foundations, busiensses, nonprofits and technology gurus can come together to add value to these discussions.

Please note that we are liveblogging here; not every word is here but I'll get as much as possible along the way.

Projects Presenting

Genocide Intervention Network: to build out the idea (or brand) of the anti-genocide movement. Give people the idea and space to come together for resources. Content available to everyone regardless of organizational affiliation, use these tools to speak with your own voice: GINet facilitates this dialogue.

N2Y2Con: Cisco Presentation

Opportunities and using technology to power the network....where does the real power come from?

Mike Yutrzenka, Executive Director of Cisco Foundation, speaks on the level playing field, quoting Tom Freedman and others on the state of global networks and what we come together to do. He speaks on the move of "global knowledge work" away from silicon valley and out into the villages and communities of leaders in every corner of the world.

There's great potential for new collaborations here and some of that is happening on the N2Y2 backchannel on Meebo: http://www.meebo.com/room/netsquared/

N2Y2Con: Introducing the Innovators

The N2Y2 sessions have begun; this is Evonne Heyning blogging live from San Jose for NetSquared Innovation spotlights. I will be liveblogging from the detail sessions later today but first, an intro on why this gathering is unique.

The future of organizing networks and activist media will be redefined by many of these 21 innovating social ventures presenting here at N2Y2. Here are a few of the culture-shifting approaches that these groups are pioneering:

Welcome to N2Y2!

Welcome to San Jose! It's great to see so many innovators in one room with an interest in bringing new resources and new players together.

So what are we doing here? To connect, resource, share, learn, collaborate, brainstorm, challenge, encourage and vote!

For the next two days I will be blogging here at Cisco for the feedback focus sessions and will do my best to keep the conversations alive here on NetSquared.

Daniel's at the podium now setting the stage for the event, asking us all to keep brevity at a premium as we seek to go through 21 great projects in a matter of hours. The hat person chooses Nabuur first as the projects begin their five minute introduction to present their work to the community.

Best wishes to all of the presenting innovation networks!

N2Y2 Blogging, Rooms and Ride suggestions

I am looking forward to meeting so many of you next week at N2Y2! Britt Bravo has me wrangled to blog during the event and we'll be taking tons of photos and quotes from the innovation sessions. Thanks for keeping the comments flowing so that we're all on the same page sharing tools and information.

For those of you looking for last minute reservations, the Highland Inn in San Jose still has rooms in the $100 range. Let me know if you're interested in carpooling....I need a ride for two passengers from the conference to the B&B on Tuesday evening and a ride back to the event on Wednesday morning.

Thank you.

To the dozens of supporters who have found us here, thank you! To our hardcore advisors and leaders who have come here to vote, thank you also. This process has been an amazing journey for the Amoration/ManorMeta team; as this project has gone underground for the last few months we haven't been out there talking about the detail development work happening behind the scenes at AMO Studio. Thanks for keeping us in the spotlight and helping us to find new partners, supporters and friends from Japan to Israel!

Building ManorMeta in the virtual world; voting our love everywhere

Hello Friends of ManorMeta!
It's true...we're moving! Our Better World Island location became too small for our crystalline sanctuary and we wish our friends at Care.org and the Better World Scouts the best wishes as they build amazing aid and activism efforts inworld. We will continue to be active scouts and offer you AMO Island as a resort alternative for visionary communities in development around the world.
