What is Creating Social Change

Creating Social Change is a project of Global Partnerships for Activism & cross-cultural Training. The purpose of this blog will be to share our knowledge, encounters and interests about the process of creating social change. Articles should be useful to the end user and assist them in learning more about running their own projects.

What can I do with Creating Social Change?

As a reader, commenter, or contributor you will learn about what is happening elsewhere directly from the people here.   You can create friends from around the world. Your posts will include, but not limited to:

·                 profiles of important figures pushing the field of social change

·                  Articles on current news & events

·                  Reviews of relevant technology to help run organization

·                    Videos & PodCasts

How can I comment?

If you have a comment regarding any specific post, please follow the guidelines below. Remember anyone can comment.

1.             Please be considerate.

2.             Please stay on topic.

3.             Keep it short and to the point.

4.             To make it useful for others, provide factual information. You might add links to relevant sites, or videos.

5.                Most importantly check your grammar and spelling.

How do I become a contributor (writer) on Creating Social Change?

Anyone can be a contributor. If you want to post an article please send your request to our editorial staff at aly@globalpact.org and we can set you up with the administrative rights to create articles. When writing your posts, please follow the guidelines provided in the How to Post section.

How to write a Post?

Blogging is all about communication and bringing people a little bit closer together. Keep in mind that posts start conversation. Below is nothing more than a suggestion when you are writing your article.

1.             Write about a current issue.

2.             Pick a topic that addresses something new to the audience when it comes to promoting social change.

a.             New organizations with different focus

b.            Individuals who are promoting social change

c.             New projects

d.            New technologies used to facilitate social change awareness

e.           New ideas for organization

f.               Advice or new tactics which could be used.

3.             Think of the impact of the topic you are writing about on the reader

4.                Pick a headline that best describes your posts

5.              Keep it short and straight to the point.

6.             If you have pictures or video put them in to make your post interesting.

7.             If there is a site where the reader could find more information regarding what you are posting, provide the link.

8.             Never lose your humor.

9.             Use bulleted points, and subtitles to make your points easy to see whenever you can

10.     Most importantly check your grammar and spelling.

How are my posts or comments edited?

Once you email to our editorial staff at aly@globalpact.org, your article will be reviewed only for clarity of getting your point across, grammar and spelling.   If there  are any  issues with your article, we will not make changes to your words.   We will simply  let you know and you will be the one who  will revise it.   You can write whatever you want about the process of creating social change.

If you are writing comments, you will need to provide your email. Any comment containing inappropriate language will be removed.   Other than that, you can say whatever you want.

You can also become a regular contributor.   Please let us know and the editorial staff will evaluate your request.   We really want to have regular contributors who have a passion for writing about social change issues.

Is there any cost to participate?

Creating Social Change is open to all individuals and organization concerned about social change. There is no cost.
