Hey everyone! I'm Taylor and I created a mashup with Daniel Westermann-Clark called Podbop (which mashes Eventful + our own database of mp3s from around the web). We were fortunate enough to have won "Best Mashup" at the first Mashup Camp this past March. It's been a crazy 3 months since then and I've been enjoying the whole ride. My goal is to give concert-goers a great chance to discover the great bands that are playing right around the corner from you. Read more!
By day I work at the University of Florida creating clean and accessible websites with the Web Administration. We also get to push using open source software (like Wordpress for http://news.ufl.edu/ ) and helped bring podcasting to our university.
I'm excited to be speaking on Tuesday (4pm!) on the A web more woven: the alchemy and practicalities of mashups panel so come by to hear what I have to say about the benefits mashups can provide and some new ideas that you can build.

music, mashups and social change
Hello Taylor. Marnie emailed me and a couple of other people with a link to Podbop as soon as she came back from Mashup Camp, and I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I'd love to see a music/socialchange/event mashup (podbopsquared?) in the future - maybe a mashup of Music for America concerts and other social change oriented arts events with podcasts and downloadable activist materials. Looking forward to the Alchemy of mashups.
Yeah that would be cool.
Yeah that would be cool. When we were brainstorming with the Eventful guys at one point we came up with a poetrybop or the like that would let you read poems of authors doing readings in your area etc.
