Maslow meets Rogers : A web that connects us all

There's some remarkable synchonicity today as we arrive at the launch for the Charter for Compassion.

The concept of self-actualisation defined by Maslow and later work by Carl R Rogers in achieving in through person-centered counselling bore influence on a 1996 white paper which proposed a new paradigm for economics in the information age.based on compassion before profit and numbers

This was the beginning of people-centered economics.

Today as Maslow enters the conversation here on Ecademy, there's suddenly a campaign developing from Netsquared calling for "A web that connects all"

This might turn out to be the day that a plan finally comes together.

Jeff Mowatt

"The Information Age can become the pinnacle of human civilization, the Golden Age.   Or, it can become the end of human civilization.   We get to decide which way to go, and act accordingly."

"Dismissing people and consciously leaving them to die is probably not the way to go."

"Economics, and indeed human civilization, can only be measured and calibrated in terms of human beings.   Everything in economics has to be adjusted for people, first, and abandoning the illusory numerical analyses that inevitably put numbers ahead of people, capitalism ahead of democracy, and degradation ahead of compassion."

"Each of us who have a choice can choose what we want to do to help or not.   It is free-will, our choice, as human beings."
