I made it to Swaziland!

Jennifer Sly is the Founder of YouthAssets, a Featured Project at the NetSquared Conference.

Well, I made it Swaziland. After a short ride on a SMALL place - they take ALL of your luggage, purses, and bags because there is no room for anything in your seat! It was a quick ride - only 40 minutes - and I was sitting to a very nice gentleman who was travelling to Swaziland for the first time from Senegal. He was attending a trade conference at the same location as my OSISA conference so maybe I will see him again.

YouthAssets Advisory Board Member Sabelo Dlamini picked me up from the airport with his friend Njabulo. What a great welcome to the country! We went for dinner at Quartermaines and I had one of my Swazi favorites - chedder and tomato grilled sandwish with "chips". It was great to finally catch up with Sabelo after ten years - he has become quite a successul business man. He is still as resourceful and creative as when I met him ten years ago and is VERY well connected within the country.

I am staying at a guest house - the woman who owns it loves catering to foreigners and will be taking me on my personal tour of the area in her car. She actually went to school in Indianapolis, Indiana and also spent two years at Cornell in Ithaca, NY.

My phone didn't seem to work, so on Monday I have to go to Mbabane, the capital city, and get my new Swazi phone number.

Sabelo took me around Mbabane today - it brings back so many memories! Had lunch at the Phoenix Spur - one of my favorite places that is still there!

Thanks to Sabelo I got access at the Mbabane Internet cafe, but won't be back until Monday. Give you a full report then!
