Today, at the NetSquared N2Y4 Conference, The Nonprofit Commons faciltated the Health Panel Expo - an online event in Second Life to showcase recent developments in health care research, and to connect efforts in fighting disease and creating a cooperative and supportive environment for patients and their providers.
Read a great summary of the event on the Anita Borg Institute blog by BJ Wishinsky!

It's great to have the latest development in the health care system, many will be benefited by this. Every breakthrough counts. If the heath care system is getting better, the The K Street Project sounds kind of almost disturbing. A lot of special interest groups have been put under pressure to hire Republicans over Democrats, in their quest for majority power and instant cash mostly enormous tax breaks to the richest 1% of Americans and nothing for people who really need it. The K Street Project has several high profile neo-conservatives tied to it, such as the disgraced former Representative Tom DeLay. Some would give faxless payday loans to make the K Street Project go away.
