Some Orgs Are Just Poised for Progress

Well, I just looked at how many years I have been on Netsquared, 4 years and 24 weeks. Geez. 4 jobs later...I've landed at the International Sculpture Center. It seems that emerging professionals like myself have this experience often. Jumping jobs, whether due to burnout or lack of upwards movement, every year or so. I heard once that most nonprofit professionals under 30 change jobs about every two years.

I landed at the International Sculpture Center in September, and was super excited to begin because they are in a very unique situation. They haven't updated their website for many, many years - it was award winning in the 90's when it was first put up - but now, it is ready for a make-over. I find that the organization is very organized and has a solid strategic plan for the future, which makes me even more excited.

There are all kinds of organizations - I'm lucky to have landed in one that is ready to go full force into the future. It's also an international organization which makes the possibilities more grand. I'm very excited (did I already say that once or twice?) to be working with them and am looking forward to seeing what the future will bring.

Good luck with the new job!

Thanks so much for updating us on your new job at the International Sculpture Center. It sounds like a fabulous opportunity for you and for the organization - they're lucky to have you!

It can be really hard to start from scratch, but it sounds like you've got the kind of excellent planning and leadership team you need to get it done.

Please keep us updated on how it goes!
