Education Through Social Networking Sites

It can not be denied that a relatively ample time is spent on the internet, particularly on social networking sites, keeping one engrossed with virtual passive or active interactions. Who, in this techno-savvy times , has not tried a hand on creating his or her own facebook, twitter, multiply,or friendster account? How many of us felt the urge to uncover the essay writer in us through designing and managing our own online journals through sites like blogspot.com, wordpress.com, or livejournal.com? Who has not been tempted to enrol in online tutorial portals for a more convenient and speedy academic aide? Peer to peer networking pages have become fertile grounds even for education. A good opportunity to impart knowledge is largely seen in the form of information technology. It is thus a responsible act to optimize the utility of social networking activities. How do these sites merit a chunk of one's time? Here are the suggested activities to maximize these social networking sites' potential.

*Post relevant news about people, places, events, discoveries, and the like: Be your own online reporter by chronicling historic, relevant events about a festival, individual, or a place. You may have chanced upon pages dedicated to honoring world famous authors, leaders, philantropists, teachers, and even lay mens. Some also create sites about scenic and culturally riched places for travel and tourism. Doing so will map you in the world of passionate discoveries. The regular update might be as taxing as finishing research papers, but fulfillment is waiting at every end of the writing experience.

*Add individuals who have advocacies at sight: Al Gore, Obama, Pope John Paul, Mother Theresa, Anne Frank, Shakespeare, Muhammad Ali, Confucius—all of these significant personalities could possibly be seen with their own pages on facebook and the likes, and you may want to include them as your contacts. The benefit of doing so is that every time there are updates and stories about these people, you are informed as well. You may have your own choice of personality like a novelist, film director, musician, band, politician that has inspired you through your life; adding the individual is a sure delightful and indispensable engagement.

*Create meaningful social forums: Post chalenging questions like, "What are the ways to help slow the pace of global warming?" and you will sure do invite comments, insights, and suggestions of possible answers. What is salient about this pursuit is that most of us are kept abreast of some social, economical, cultural, or historical concerns that are not usually discussed on a regular basis. Share your advocacies online. Are you against capital punishment, eating exotic animals, or certain obsolete laws? Enabling yourself to voice out these concerns may be taken on a higher ground if a lot of people or authorities notice its significance. Also, take the chance to share inspirational thoughts, visions, hopes, and unselfish world views

*Refrain from using social networking sites to malign, put down an individual, group, or an institution though: As with the opportunity to reach a lot of eyes and minds comes the responsibility to not harm individuals, groups, or organizations. Bombarding demeaning words online is an exhibition of unmastered temper that could cause large damages. You may have heard of an amateur essay writer of some sort who devoted a page to just put down a perceived enemy that has been brought to the legal field. Biased opinions, unsupported claims, or just mere product of self-absorbed intentions should not be the aim of owning an online site.

Norm

You're right! Today, the Internet is an integral part of our life. It helps us find new friends, get various info and earn a degree! Agree

I would not call myself a diehard social netwoker fan but I learn a lot of things from the few social networking sites I use, prominent among then being Facebook. It not only helps keep in touch with your friends, but also tells an entrepreneur about what his customers like/does not like about his business/products. Really a gteat tool that has been absued by spammers! :-|
