In cooperation with others from our local Net Tuesday meetup group #net2chi I'm promoting the Chicago Region Civic Forum.
The goals of Chicago Region Civic Forum are:
I'm very pleased to help champion TakingITGlobal.org.
Among other things they're supporting the http://www.DigitalDivide.net site, an important network for digital literacy and access advocates.
The 21 projects we're focused on at N2Y2 are the tip of the iceberg. We've got lots of work to do. How can we coordinate work in our field to better advantage?
I consider myself lucky to be a part of this movement: more and more we see a confluence of movements. Environmentalism, Digital Excellence, the Commons, Open Source, Media & Social Justice. Let's play our part. We're evolving new ways of working together.
This challenge is both local and global at the same time. It's on my mind day and night.
