Chicago Region Civic Forum - an e-democracy effort
In cooperation with others from our local Net Tuesday meetup group #net2chi I'm promoting the Chicago Region Civic Forum.
The goals of Chicago Region Civic Forum are:
- Increase civic engagement throughout the Chicago region
- Support Establishment of Neighborhood and Community Level forums in Chicago Region
- Support Open Government, Civic Accountability and Civic Learning Efforts
- Provide an open forum for all Chicago neighborhood residents to discuss key issues and share information
- Enhance elected leaders' ability to interact with residents in order to facilitate delivery of services
- Enable access to unique online and offline resources to assist residents and legislators in collaborating towards building stronger Chicago neighborhoods
We rely upon the infrastructure and conceptual model of the Minnesota based e-democracy project.
