Hi, my name is Mike Linksvayer and I work for Creative Commons. I presented at n2y1, looking forward to being back.
This year I'll be running a session on mashups and the commons (writ large), currently scheduled just before lunch on day 2. All mashups rely to varying degrees on various commons -- open protocols, formats, data, source, content, community. I will be giving a presentation, but this is also an opportunity for you to bring your project, understand how it builds upon and contributes to commons, and how to grow that space.
I'm also really excited to have 'adopted' MetaVid for the Mashup Challenge. I can say with complete honesty that this is one of the most exciting projects on the whole Internet, in terms of both technology and social impact. I urge everyone to check MetaVid out.
That said, I am pretty biased, and you can get a good feeling for my biases by looking at my top 7 recommendations for last year's mashup challenge (which I unfortunately could not attend).
See you in less than 48 hours!
