I enthusiastically recommend Idealware's new in-depth blog report which reviews and compares the seven tools most frequently used to create a blog. Which are easiest to get up and running, or to tailor to match your site? Which has the best comment moderation features? Reporting functionality? This report will give you all the details and recommend a tool for you. This report was created in partnership by Idealware (I'm a Board Member) and TechSoup/CompuMentor, with the help of a talented group of contributors and advisors.

yes! now that's what i call a report
thanks for posting this - i saw that report a while back and it is really really well done. they go into depth about what works for different purposes. it's pretty much exactly what you need to know, e.g. which blog tool should i use if i have no html skills and no tech support vs. which blog tool should i use if i have tech skills but no money. it's a beautiful collaborative effort.
