Involver: How Nonprofits Can Create Video Campaigns for Social Networks.
The ACLU of of Northern California has just launched the fascinating Tracked in America online audio documentary website that presents stories from the history of U.S. Government surveillance. In podcast format, the site tells the compelling stories of 25 individuals who've been the targets of government surveillance. Accompanied by an educator manual, Tracked in America's innovative presentation of oral histories allows for easy adoption into classroom curricula. It's a unique educational tool for teachers, librarians, human rights and civil rights activists, and community groups, which I think makes good use of Web and podcast technology to assure widespread distribution. Online audio documentary
Wow. There are so many thing I like about this project--the division by periods/issues in history, the multiple layers of sound, images and word (you can read transcripts), which I would imagine makes it a little more accessible, and I like this idea of an "online audio documentary." I'm not sure if that is your phrase or theirs, but it's an interesting idea and a tool that can be used by other nonprofits. Very cool.
