Involver: How Nonprofits Can Create Video Campaigns for Social Networks.
How does a small group of artisans and activists transform a community? The Crucible has accomplished this through offering classes and workshops in welding, blacksmithing, foundry & moldmaking, woodworking, machine shop, motorcycle & bike repair, stonework, neon & light, kinetics, jewelry & enamel, fire performance, and clay animation.
Founded in 1999, the Crucible’s unique programs serve more than 5,000 young people and adults every year. A premiere art center, it has captured the attention, imagination, and engagement of the general public, the BurningMan organization, and corporate sponsors through its’ spirited execution and delivery of dance, opera, ballet, & art events as well as community-oriented services. Their treatment of Stravinsky's "Firebird" delighted the crowds.
The delightful Fire Festival, their primary annual fundraising event, takes place from 8pm to midnight, July 9th through 12th, 2008. See you there!
Watch for more news, views, interviews, discussions, and vlogs from the Crucible in the coming months. Until then, be sure to visit the Crucible site.
