Intro for Rich Reader

Rich ReaderI'm thrilled to contribute at N2Y2 as the business mentor and project champion for Stop Family Violence, one of the featured projects.

In addition to my passion for participating in the NetSquared community, I am:

  • the president of the board of directors for the Wixárika Research Center, an NPO which defends the cultural survival of the Huichol indigenous peoples of northwestern Mexico.
  • a general partner in a multi-media, multi-platform sweat-equity startup called PlanetCheck, which covers environmental news, entertainment, and community perspectives.
  • a business planner, startup/acquisition/funding analyst, marketing executive/producer, process engineer, graphics, and IT/Web2.0 project management consultant.

In my spare time, I continuously upgrade my skills in searchnomics, usability, advertising, online video, user-generated content, security, findability, e-commerce and site design/development/management through active participation in the Silicon Valley Web Guild, a host of other local organizations, and old-fashioned self-taught practice.

I'm also learning Drupal (the Content Management System on which the NetSquared site runs) by reading as well as installing, configuring, and testing locally in my home office. When my Drupal skills mature sufficiently, I will rebuild & re-host my partially-broken digital still-photo/video site with polls, surveys, ratings, reviews, a recommendation engine, a wiki, an RSS-feed, and a threaded discussion forum for community topics (such as HDR merge and panoramic techniques).

The social and professional web has done a great deal to help all of us integrate our interests and create new opportunities. Please feel free to visit me in person or learn more from my profile page on LinkedIn.
