NABUUR & TakingITGlobal's Online Volunteering Campaign: Meet the Volunteers!

NABUUR has joined forces with TakingITGlobal (TIG) to launch an exciting initiative aimed at raising awareness on the rich world of online volunteering. The campaign will run until December 5th, the International Volunteer Day. For the next two months, we'll showcase the work of our tireless online volunteers, and provide an insight into the rich sphere of virtual volunteering. (If you've ever wondered what online volunteering is all about - and how you can get involved - stay tuned, we've got you covered!)

Lots of fun activities are in the works: a special issue of Panorama devoted to volunteering, live chats with experts and online volunteers, the launch of a volunteer page on TIG, as well as the launch of an Action Guide on online volunteering.

It's our sincere hope that this campaign will inspire more people to become active as online volunteers. As more organizations become increasingly aware of the sheer potential there exists by incorporating an online volunteering portal in their programs, more avenues and opportunities are opening up for online volunteers.

NABUUR knows first hand the reach and impact that online volunteers have, and we're excited to show the world (and brag ever so slightly) how committed our lot truly is. So, to kick things off, we'd like to introduce you to a handful of NABUUR's volunteers who are profiled in TIG's special Panorama issue titled 'Meet the Volunteers'. If you're a member of NABUUR, you have seen these faces before but now get to know them in-depth as they share, in their own words, the significance that online volunteering holds for them, and also discuss their own experiences as NABUUR online volunteers. Get ready to meet Jennifer, Tanja, Anna, Maria, Sonja, Noel, and Vikram.

As you read over their profiles, please get to know TIG's amazing volunteers as well. Their stories are equally as inspiring. To read the rest of the profiles, click here.

But wait, you can submit your own story too. If you have experience with online volunteering or consider yourself an expert on the issue, and want your story, opinion piece, or testimonial to be included in the special edition of TIG's Panorama, follow the instructions below. Submissions will be accepted through the month of October.

- TIG submission guidelines can be found here.

- You can make your interview multilingual so feel free to submit content in your language of choice, or submit something in your language that is followed by an English translation

 - To upload content, click here. (Note: You must be a member of TIG to upload content.)

Stay tuned for more news from the NABUUR/TIG online volunteering campaign. We promise it will be a fun ride!
