NetSquared teaming up with Sun Microsystems to produce global Hack Days. Sao Paolo, Brazil was a success on October 1, stay tuned for an update. Next up, China!
I was very interested to see so many projects to date have listed WIKI (4) and BLOG (9) as tools they are using .
I was also disappointed that many of us are not describing the way we plan to USE the wiki and blog tools to accomplish our social purpose.
Because the wiki and blog are the primary tools for the design phase of my own project - I was really looking forward to learning more about how each of us is using similar tools to serve our different project goals.
I made a few individual comments. But then I thought - heck - post a general comment -- appeal -- let's figure out a way to tell each other more about how we use the tools
We could all learn so much from each other if we elaborate a bit more about:
(I know we all have word limitations on the application form.
That's sorta why I went around posting comments and asking for elaboration on individual projects.
But -- we could do it here in my blog or in our own blogs, and then cross-reference our projects...) (does that make sense - a way to give ourselves a bit more "space" on particular issues?)
Anyway, as I've said before - the opportunity to get and give feedback from like-minded folks is the thing I cherish most about this funding process. Just trying to figure out ways for us to take advantage of that opportunity for feedback.

Blog tool, why, how
Sandra Dickinson
Wow Emily - what a fabulously detailed story about why and how you use the blog tool!
Especially fascinating = you chose blog tool to widely share critical information with your stakeholders -- but what really makes the blog useful for you is because it combines with RSS --- to to facilitate users' update (by subscription) of ever-changing content.
And then -- your use of the blog tool evolved as you discovered that it filled an information gap you didn't realize you had -- sharing that 'lower-tiered', 'hey did you see this' type of information.
Your story illustrates for me what is so cool about web2.0 tools == the more we use them, the more we can find ways to use them!
