I work with the Acceleration Studies Foundation as the director of the Future Salon Network.  Future Salons are monthly meetings (much like Net Tuesday events!) where we explore trends and innovations in science, technology, business, and society.  The main goal behind the Future Salon Network is to create a global community of future oriented individuals who are better equipped to navigate our rapidly changing world.  Check us out in a city near you!

For the past year the ASF has been heavily involved in Second Life as part of our exploration of the emerging Metaverse, or 3D Web.  The Metaverse Roadmap project is our current effort to try and understand what will happen when 3d virtual worlds begin to be 'mashed up' with Web 2.0, geospatial aware devices, and other related technologies.

I strongly believe that all these emerging technologies can be used as tools for social change, and I'm here to try and figure out the who, the what and the how!  For more info on my interests, motivations, and the like, check out my Omidyar Network profile.  :)

I'm planning on starting a Net Tuesday group in the Atlanta area within the next few months, and am also excited to be helping Tech Soup set up their virtual office within Second Life.
