I am looking forward to attending the upcoming 2008 NetSquared Conference. I am the President of the Diabetes Hands Foundation, a nonprofit through which we run TuDiabetes.com, a social network for people touched by diabetes and EsTuDiabetes.com, its sister community in Spanish.

Sadly, diabetes is almost a "closet" condition: because it typically doesn't show on the outside unless you are at the point of experiencing long-term complications, too many people live with diabetes without connecting with other people with diabetes. Our goal is to put an end to that. I am beginning to work with a team on the development of a mashup to help raise more awareness about diabetes and connect people with diabetes from all over the world.
