Q: from expert - Can you differenitate yourself from other similar services?
A: Get people to develop content for purpose of pushing through distribution channels.

Q: from expert - One of your stated goals is improving your content. Please explain.
A: Want to answer the best questions to get better answers.

Q: from expert - Technical improvement is not the issue, right? Its an improvement of the quality of content you are seeking, right? Are you satisfied with the technical stuff?
A: No, they need technical assistance. They are not experts in computer science. They are self-teaching and implementing on the fly.

Q: from expert - Of all the people you've met here at the conference, is there anyone that you wouldn't want to work with?
A: Met many people doing media work that is interesting. Likely many ways of building collaboration. From a technology
perspective, need to have the conversations.

Comment from audience - The real value it sounds like you have is developing scripts for telling a story that is an off-line activity.
Response - You are right, the technology is already there. We are interested in the content.

Q: What are you doing to differentiate yourself to tell stories about social entreprenuers?
A: Time and attention is lacking for social entreprenuers to tell their stories. Goal is to make it easier for them to do it.

Q: from audience - Have you approached foundations and offered them your services? If so, what has been their reaction?
A: Just starting to make the approach foundations and early responses are mixed bag.

Provide suite of tools for nonprofits at no costs.

q: from expert - what is your evaluation mechanism?
a: only criterias are 1) you are a nonprofit organization and 2) you are not violating human rights. It is not an award system right now.

hosting over 800 websites right now. a place out of san diego is donating all of that space. connecting

q: from expert - is is a separate instance of the tool box for each of the clients?
a: need provisioning system. for example magic wish list would be to issue an instance of drupal for each of those.

q: from expert - have you taken into consideration of security issues? what happens if there is a security issue at drupal
level?
a: hoping patch by open source community first.

Comment from expert - as the problem scales that is not enough. mozilla has team of developers that keep up patches over time.

q: from expert - how are you different from dreamhost?
a: service and support.

q: from expert - how will your provisioning system support customization? how will support work?
a: will be developing knowledge base

comment from audience - every nonprofit wants a customized site that takes hundreds of hours. we do fee for service.
reponse - will do customization by fee as well. believe not all nonprofits will require this.

Knowledge base will be open to public.

Suggestion from audience - Suggest learning more about Opsware as it relates to provisioning system.

q from expert - how are you going to do outreach to everyone that has expertise in GIS?
a: already have 5 years experience in this area. already have a certain amount of knowledge coming towards them. for that reason they are looking for a way to making that conversation organized.

q from expert - what is the advocacy? what is the technical?
a: want to find best practices and highlight them. help desk information service is what they are seeking. take the expertise of people already doing it in the field.

q: from expert - what is your vehicle for highlighting best practices?
a: peer sharing is the goal. which tools should be used is currently undecided. showing nonprofits how to use the gis technology to support their work.

q: from expert - this is a technical track. what technical support do you need since you described the project as 'light' on tech
a: open to suggestions on how to share this info world wide

q: from expert - you stated a $500 a month budget. is that enough?
a: no, that is just to get the first items up but not to get the project to the next level

q from expert - feels like you've glued together a bunch of web 2.0 api's. can you give an example of a success program?
a: local iniatiatives can produce their projects that have been developed internally so users can advance their social goal

q from presenters to experts and audiences - how are you preparing to scale is often asked. is there someone that can help us think that through?

q from expert - how have you supported internationalization?
a: hire volunteers to submit translations to a table. they have code to custom code to present this. comment from expert - the cool stuff is under the fold. people have to dive in to find it.

q: from expert - can you describe how you've created websites for other organizations?
a: youth employment summit is an example. oxfam canada and digital divide networks. this has been a source of revenue.
focus on international youth.
q from expert - are you doing any work with facebook api?
a: have not determined how to connect to facebook yet, but thinking about it.
