SchoolNet Africa is an independent non-government organization which promotes education through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in African schools. SchoolNet is the first African-based, African-led, Pan-African school networking institution and works in partnership with national schoolnet organizations in up to 33 African countries. SchoolNet Africa stands for the right of every African child to have access to Information and knowledge and to be a global citizen.
SchoolNet Africa functions as a network of networks. Its primary network is with schoolnet practitioners, education policymakers, teachers and learners through national schoolnet organizations and groups operating in the following countries

Africa SchoolNet is a portal site for schools, with links to various online projects, a comprehensive list of Southern African schools online, teachers and learner resources, and news of upcoming events.

The African SchoolNet Centre provide information and resources for African schoolnet practitioners to enhance their implementation efforts, and collects information on national schoolnets in Africa and globally. It also has an e-newsletter and provides space for networking and collaboration among schoolnet practitioners.
ThinkQuest Africa focuses on interactive, collaborative learning. It is a Pan African Programme that aims to promote a new style of learning and Internet-based education in Africa. Participants are encouraged to work in an international team, particularly with learners from different parts of Africa in developing websites.

Gender Watch includes a "Gender Talk" forum.
Innovation Watch provides links to case studies of open source software use in Africa
