Project Description:
ImaNote - (Image and Map Annotation Notebook) is a multi-user tool for viewing, zooming, and annotating arbitrary-sized images using a web browser. Multiple users can display a high-resolution image or a collection of images online, being able to almost instantly see and edit each other's modifications.
Points of interest:
The project is targeted to cultural heritage institutions who have a need for free, open, software. Imanote allows for research and analysis of large image collections. It enables a new way of working in which the image (and not text) can be used as a source and repository of information.
The software was developed as part of The Map of Mexico 1550 and the Exploring Carta Marina Cultural Heritage Forum projects.
