A nonprofit version of paypal -- something that offers ubiquitous online payment system but with lower overhead and/or profits returned to the nonprofit community. Clients could choose to donate a percentage of profits to charity of their choice, too.

Whoa, I had just about the same idea last month. Would be nice if it was geared towards donations, and would give you a nice reciept with instructions on how to get it tax deductable. From that base could expand to other ventures, but build the infrastructure up first. I like the idea of clients choosing to donate precentage of profits to charity.
I can pretty easily convince our funder to go for this, the only thing really holding us back is good programmers, as we have a couple other projects at a higher priority, and it's tough to hire really good people.
