I am happy to say that things are really starting to progress with the project. The last entry took a look at how South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau (SYFAB) provide funding information to their service users and how this could be improved by taking some of this information online. SYFAB are also keen to look at how they can encourage service users to provide some of their own insights to create a more "rounded" information service.
SYFAB have taken a first step in this process by setting up a new "Funding News" blog which will provide up to date funding news, offer SYFAB commentary, and encourage feedback from service users. We will take a closer look at this in future posts.
It will be interesting to see how this addition to the funding service fits in with a innovative application that SYFAB have been distributing to their members called SIFT. Best described as an interactive guide to fundraising, SIFT provides regularly updated information to help it's service users get the most out of the wealth of fundraising information that can be found on the Internet. The video at the end of this post looks at SIFT in some more detail.
We have now also made a start in setting SYFAB up with an email newsletter template and a Google Analytics account. More about this will follow in the next post. You can see a full list of SYFAB's priorities here. If you think you can assist with any of these, please get in contact.
Just a quick note on copyright for the project. Both the blog and video content is made available under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License. This a great license for collaborative projects such as this as it allows people to reuse and remix content under certain conditions.
