Inveneo combines VoIP, Wimax, cheap components, energy consumption reduction and free-software.
Points of interest:
One of it's achievements is a communication network that works by pedal and solar energy. This network covers the towns within the area and grants Internet access through the nearest phone acces: 67kms far.
Another interesting thing is their NGO remote office, including IP-PBX, Internet acces via Dial-Up, DSL or WiFi and free/open software: Debian GNU/Linux, Asterisk IP-PBX, Samba, MySQL, Apache and PHP.
They also have a list of hardware that works with less than 10w.
