Emergency Notification

Challenges Entered: 

If an emergency situation occurs within 10 miles of your current location, you will be notified via text message or pop-up notification for those who have downloaded the app.   This will allow people to avoid such locations and prevent traffic blockage.   It will also enable emergency workers to perform their tasks efficiently and without disruptions.

Sustainability Model: 
There will be an initial start-up capital to develop the technology.   Cities will write-off the cost so that the app is free to customers.   The incentives for this are that the app ensured safety to innocent bystanders and will drastically decrease the amount of traffic accidents in emergency situations.
Expertise needed: 
Technical Expertise: We will need experts to develop an app which to sends an SMS to everyone within a 10 mile radius at the push of a button.
Policy/Program Expertise: We will need people to verify this program is not violating any privacy or tort laws.   Also, we will need people to take raw technology and transform it into an efficient program.<br />
Marketing/Media Expertise: We will need effective advertisement so people know how and where to download the application.
