First Aid Corps

Challenges Entered:

Survival rates from cardiac arrests in major cities is low, between 2-4%. It has been proven that survival rates can be as high as 70% if efforts are coordinated and the responders are given the correct tools to use and get alerts. This  can be used by anyone who wants to alert motivated and trained volunteers anywhere, be it at home or a work, anytime, night or day. Why this works is because people around us can reach  victims under 5 mins as recommended by the American Heart Association better than the emergency medical providers, ie paramedics. The mobile phone application is   functional even though the regional or national telephone or internet system is down. The area of coverage is up to a radius of 200 metres, even out of line of sight. In buildings, the coverage radius is up to 50 metres. The firstaider will be able to locate the victim or the bystander who uses the application up to an accuracy of 1metre.
