Global Stewardship Initiative
Challenges Entered:
Not-for-profit social networking site that encourages users to connect with nature and each other in an effort to find everyday solutions to pollution and globalwarming.
Our goal is to establish not-for-profit status and a fully interactive social networking platform that users can utilize in identifying, documenting and presenting troubled areas in need of cleanup or habitats in need of restoration. Additionally, users can creat, organize and manage local clean-up and restoration projects and campaigns.
In addition:
Have established a website, forum and a limited social networking platform. Google adsense will likely cover the annual expense of maintaining the current costs of keeping the networking site ad-free and the domain/hosting fees.
Currently running a membership drive on another networking site. Our goal of 300 new members is a third of the way met. Â
Currently have on order 50 yds of hemp canvas and strapping for use in making reusable grocerie totes. Volunteers will begin assembly of totes in late January.
