Shout out Child Sacrifice and Abuse in Uganda

Challenges Entered: 
Child Sacrifice and Abuse Uganda

1. We hope to use the SMS media to send out maeesges to mobile phone uses in Uganda, alerting them of child sacrifice in Uganda

2. We will create an SMS text number where any body who have seen, heard of a child abuse case to text the 8787 number

3. Massive campaign on stop child sacrifice and abuse will be advertised in media in Uganda, reachablein the wide geographical coverage

4. Follow uou of SMS will be made using law enforcement and local leaders and forms of support provided

Create greater awareness to reduce child sacrifice in Uganda, reduce child sacrifice and abuse
Recover abused children and provide psyco-social rehabilitation
Placement of children under appropriate care givers after responses from SMS media alerts on abuse
Identified Obstacles: 
Distance to reach very far and remote areas where abuses have been reported
Hostility from Traditional and powerful Rich lords who sacrifice children for wealth and may harm project officers
Slow response of the uganda law enforcement which may compromise some recoveires

Thank you for sharing your project, which I have added to my favorites on Netsquared. Can you also support Kabissa's project and give your feedback? We are a network connecting people and organizations for Africa - you are very welcome to also join Kabissa, an online platform where people and organizations working in Africa can showcase themselves and connect with each other for peer learning and information sharing. It would be great to have AHEAD participating in the Kabissa newtwork. 

It would be helpful to hear some more about how you will implement this project, and who your partners are going to be. There are some great organizations in Uganda that you should (and probably are) be talking to that have dealt with SMS projects like this, including Women of Uganda Network and AppLab.
