Spreading it: Received by everyone

Challenges Entered:
This project is a blend between the realistic obstacles of the daily work experiences of an activist and web & mobile technologies, With this project help and reporting is not out of reach any more. It faces the challenges of time, place, and media restrictions. Human rights activists, bloggers, journalists and concerned people do not have to avoid police blockade anymore.

The Project is a solution which integrates web & mobile technologies in one system, allowing everyone who faces any human rights violations to use mobile to record using any available format (text-audio-video) and send it to predefined international number, once received by our system it will be instantly SMS ed to a large number of people mobiles who works in the field either by receiving the SMS from system or receiving the message via Bluetooth points*.
At the same time the received message will also published to a website .Also using RSS feeds, other websites will be able to spread out the news, if the format is audio or video this can be podcasted.
Also users can tag the published content to share it with social networks.

The Problem
Usually there is a delay between the violations time and the time to report the Violation. The victims of violation or reporters usually take time to report/update this violation by moving from the crime scene to designated area. Also in some cases public, activists or journalists do not have the moving privileges.
In some countries the media does not allow reporting about some specific issues because of political and/or social restrictions.

Whom
• Human rights reporting
• Elections monitoring
• bloggers
• Media correspondent field work
• Concerned public

The Solution

How does it work
1.Anyone present in a crime scene/ violation can use a mobile phone to record this violation either by text messaging, audio or video recording.
2. Sending this message to predefined international number to avoid mobile local provider’s restrictions.
3. The message will instantly be sent to a web system & an SMS alert sent to the webmaster/s mobile to approve the received content at the time.
4. Webmaster can access the online system either by using mobile phone or pc.
5. With one click the webmaster/s:
-Approve the content to appear in website and check the content language.
- Resending message to a mobile list of human rights organization activist, bloggers, journalist, talk show program producers
- Sending the message content to Bluetooth points* which is located at public areas, that will allow people at this location to receive the message.

The System Central Administration will be used to manage countries accounts with associated Bluetooth Points, shared contact information and webmasters accounts.

The bellow figure illustrating the system communication points

Facts & figures
•The system is accessible through World Wide Web.
•The system supports 201 countries & Multi languages.
•The message spreading life cycle takes from 5-10 minutes.

*What is Bluetooth Points?
It’s a device using both Bluetooth & Wi-Fi technology to spreading the given content (text-images-videos-audio) to people who exist at coverage range which could be up to 100 meters.
The device also has an LCD screen that can be used as a call to action and allows the display of content that the people will download.

In addition: Developing SMS Service modules at Horytna.net which currently used to spreading the received information to a list of system subscribers, Subscription is free from the online website.
